Volkswagen recall - polo GT, Vento and Jeta models in India due to problem in
New Delhi (Auto Desk) Volkswagen India has recalled Polo GT, Vento and Zeta Models. The company has made these models between April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2017. The company has issued notice to the public since September 15 under which the company will make necessary updates in manual transmission with the Polo GT 1.5 and Vento 1.5. At the same time, replacement of O-rings will be done for the Zeta 1.4 TSI carbon canister and will be done with ARAI through the Proclamation of Production (CoP) process. To prevent pollution, carbon canister is used to absorb the fuel wafer. However, it is not yet known
about how many units the company has recollected.
Foxwagen had already submitted a roadmap to the 3.23 million vehicles recycled for emissions by the National Green Tribunal in 2017. Foxwagen India had announced the recall of 3,23,700 vehicles in December 2015, in which the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has said to cure emission software. At that time it was found that the on-road emission was giving 1.1 to 2.6 times more emissions than the existing BS-IV norms.
Prior to this, in the test conducted by ARAI, Volkswagen India, with EA 189 diesel engines, updated the 3.23 million vehicles for updating the vehicles, which were alleged violation of emission norms.
