Renault Lodgy first review

Finally Renault’s has launched its much awaited MPV in Indian market. Previously this The MUV has been sold in the European countries under the Dacia badge And Renault has inherited the feature and developed the much impressive MPV for India.

Renault’s has launched this MUV in 7 variants, out of which 3 variants powered with 85PS Renault’s engine and 4 are power with 110PS engine. But surprisingly company has added many features in 85PS segment. 

The 85PS engine is packed with 1.5 liter k9k turbocharged diesel engine        with five-speed manual transmission. The 85PS engine produces torque of 200NM which is nice whereas the 110PS lodgy packed with same engine i.e. 1.5 liter k9k Renault’s turbocharged engine with much better torque i.e. 245NM its really nice job done by result engineers for same 1.5 liter engine. 

Comparting with Toyota Innova which is packed with 102PS engine with 200NM of torque.  Lodgy did the nice job comparing to other as well.

The 110PS engine is solid comeback from Renault in MPV segment, Lodgy is strong competitor against the Toyota Innova with 103PS engine, Maruti Ertiga which is also based on Renault’s engine with 90PS & 200Nm of a torque and the Mobilio, powered with 100PS with 200Nm max. torque.  

Lodgy is the first MPV introduced by Renault with 6-speed automatic manual transmission whereas as others are 5 speed transmission only. Renault has introduced one more unique feature in MPV segment called as cruise control, these controls are mounted on steering wheel which actually controls the acceleration of your car. It’s really fun to drive feature added by Renault.

Also, Lodgy is the one of the fastest MPV in this segment which gives you the top speed of 170 kilometer per hour whereas Innova gives you the top speed of a 146 kilometer per hour, Ertiga gives you 64 kilometer/hour and the Mobilio gives you 140 kilometer/hour. The car looks little bulky from back side but from front Renault has managed well.

On the safety side Lodgy has managed best Shortest breaking distance of 35. 26m when we compared to Ertiga 39. 66 and Innova 40.4 for the speed of 80KMPH

The ac system has nice variable type compressor which provides you even better fantastic cooling at all time.

Internally Renault lodgy has very good boot space provided in all three rows, lodgy has 207 liters of a boot space, innova has 196 liters of a boot space, Ertiga has 107 Liters of boot space with very less in this segment and the Mobilio has 191 liters of boot space. So lodgy is more comfortable than others.

Lodgy is second winner which deliver 21. 04 k-mph mileage where are Innova give you 12. 99 k-mph, which is very less as compared to other. Third winner Ertiga gives you 20. 77 k-mph and the first winner Mobilio give you very nice 24. 5 k-mph, and its best in this segment.

 There are lot many good features introduced by Renault in this segment for Lodgy, we can say its tough competitor Of Ertiga, Innova and Mobilio.
