Rs 5000 crores have to spend on Electric buses to run on roads of India-Gov


Ministry of Road and Transportation has demanded Rs 5000 crore separately from the Finance Ministry for the government electric buses and the world class bus stand. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information. According to the Economic Times report, the Ministry's plan is to make this Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in collaboration with State Governments.

Nitin Gadkari said, "State Transport Corporation should stop the use of diesel buses, which are constantly being damaged, should take electronic bus to compensate for losses.

Nitin Gadkari said that he will soon write a letter to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and talk to the State Transport Ministers on this matter. For the next financial year, the planning of the Ministry of Road and Transportation is to buy 5000 electric buses for running at the urban level. He said, "Our plan is to bring a double decker bus, we have also signed the MoU with Transport London to bring the latest technology in public transport."
